The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation today announced a call for entries for its 2024 Cancer Survivor Scholarships. The Foundation will award $100,000 to eligible students – including graduating high school seniors, college, vocational and graduate students – to support these students in realizing happy, productive futures. “Beating cancer medically is just one part of creating a healthy, happy life. Achieving our purpose of ensuring survivors can spread their wings and soar requires that we help them realize their dreams, too,” explained Jeri Wilson, Executive Director, Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. “Pediatric cancers deprive children of a lot of ordinary childhood experiences – from birthday parties and softball games to important school events or just time with their friends. This scholarship is a small gesture to help them get the most out of their chosen educational path.”
The Foundation has awarded more than $500,000 in Survivor Scholarships since the program was launched in 2017. Applications for the 2024 Scholarships will be accepted until March 31, 2024. All applications will be reviewed against the following criteria:
o Be graduating high school seniors or students at community college, vocational school or a 4-year university/college who have been treated for pediatric cancer (as certified by a doctor’s letter).
o Be enrolled as full-time students for the upcoming term.
o Maintain a 2.5 GPA.
