In a Perspective, researchers examine the various technological advances that have enabled COVID-19 vaccines to be developed with unprecedented speed, including reverse vaccinology, structural vaccinology, synthetic biology, and adjuvants, and how these same advances could help to address other pressing health challenges, such as antimicrobial resistance, chronic infections, and cancer.
