New vaccine shows promise for COPD patients at risk for pneumonia

Smoking increases risk of developing active TB

Lung volume reduction surgery shown to prolong and improve life for some emphysema patients

Patients who underwent lung reduction surgery showed a significant survival benefit compared to medical treatment, with an average time until a 'composite event' of two years. Even healthy lungs labor at acceptable ozone levels

Severe COPD may lead to cognitive impairment

Low birth weight linked to long-term respiratory problems
