TGen/Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center publish results of new drug for pancreatic cancer patients

A new drug combination of gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel has shown impressive results in a clinical trial for patients with advanced pancreatic cancer. The study, led by Dr. Daniel Von Hoff, found that about half the patients showed reductions in tumor size and about 50 percent lived at least a year.

TGen and Scottsdale Healthcare researchers discover microRNA role in brain metastasis

A study published by Scottsdale Healthcare and TGen identified microRNA-328 as a biomarker that can predict lung cancer patients' risk of developing brain metastasis. The study found that over-expression of microRNA-328 resulted in increased cancer cell migration, suggesting its involvement in 'brain-seeking' metastatic potential.
