Nearly three dozen of Binghamton University’s graduate programs are positioned prominently in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report’s Best Graduate Schools rankings .
Thirty-four programs landed on U.S. News’ rankings, highlighted by double-digit leaps for four programs over last year’s rank: earth sciences (#124 to #89), pharmacy (#95 to #74), mathematics (#103 to #93), and education (#114 to #104). Systems Science and Industrial Engineering was the top-ranked Binghamton graduate program, named the #31 Industrial and Systems Engineering graduate program in the United States.
“Binghamton University’s graduate programs prepare the next generation of scholars and professionals through high-level academic discovery,” said President Anne D’Alleva. “I’m grateful that we have such talented and passionate faculty leading our programs and building on the University’s tradition of excellence in graduate education. Binghamton graduates are comprehensively prepared for their futures and these rankings underline the University’s well-known reputation.”
U.S News ranks graduate programs in business, education, law, and other fields each year. These rankings are based on statistical program surveys and reputation surveys sent to academics and professionals.
Systems Science and Industrial Engineering (#37 to #31), biological sciences (#119 to #115), chemistry (#101 to #98), business (#87 to #83) and engineering (#117 to #115) also saw improvements in their rankings.
